Topsail Island 2013

The week of July 21st-28th, Josh and I went with our family to Topsail Island, NC.  We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation and made lots of wonderful memories!
Beach bound and so excited!!
Our pilot and co-pilot.  Missy started out driving us so her brother could take a cat nap!
After we hit the road, Gracie said "Look who else is going to the beach with us.." And opened up the book we gave her with Puck's picture in it.  Sweet girl!
Gracie's beach buddies!
Finally...on Island Time!!
Our first night, there was a beautiful, full moon.  So pretty over the ocean.
To end our first day at the beach, we made sure to celebrate with ice cream, especially since it was National Ice Cream Day!!
Every morning, we woke up to a wonderful breakfast compliments of Patti.  It was always so good!!  The first morning there, Josh wanted to try out a new bodybuilding eating plan...which consisted of 14 eggs.  So, that's what Josh had, actually I think it ended up being 16, because Patti threw 2 regular eggs in the mix with all the egg whites.  While someone was telling Josh that they didn't think he could handle it, Gracie responded with "well I know what I can handle, this steak and jelly biscuit." She's too funny!
Gracie watching closely to see if he can do it.
And he did it!!
Gracie made him a card!! :)
After our "big" breakfast, it was time to hit the beach..cover ups and all!!
Poppa and Gracie ready to hit the beach!
And away we go!  We've gotten a lot of use out of this little wagon!
Finally....toes in the sand!

Pretty ladies!
This girl loves the beach!

Nana, Poppa and Gracie relaxing under the tent!
Sweet feet!
Showing off our pretty pedicures :)

And this is why we love Topsail Island so much..never a crowd and it's oh so nice!
Lots of castles for the princess :)
After much begging and pleading, he finally gave in!  Yay, we get to bury Uncle Josh aka Lars!
Probably thinking "this was a bad idea."
Gracie and me, hard at work
His face says it all!
We stayed at home almost every night and had  wonderful home cooked meals by Patti, which were yummy.  And after supper, we played Uno and Skip-bo.  Here is the Uno queen with her handy little card holder that her crafty Nana made :)  Some of the funny sayings that were said and heard all week were:  "Jimity crickets" "Hump Daaayyy" and every time Josh picked Gracie up and put her over his shoulder she said "Over the shoulder....Cabingo."
Gracie and her Mommy
We got all dressed up and went out to try a new restaurant one night.  We went to eat at Sear's Landing, and it was very good.  Poppa, Gracie and Nana before going to supper.

What a great week at the beach filled with family and fun!!  So thankful to Wick and Patti for making it happen, and to Patti for all the yummy meals!  Can't wait till next year!  Ps. Our annual beach pics are on the next post :)
